Hi! I currently work as a Visiting Assistant Professor of Sociology at Southwestern University. My broad research agenda explores medicine, gender, culture, political economy, and the social construction of the body.

Current Research

I am a medical sociologist who uses qualitative methods to study how inequality is felt, produced, and mitigated in and by the human body. Currently, my research looks at how hormone medicine (estrogens, progesterone, testosterone, androgen blockers) and medical institutions (scientific research and medicine, medical schools, clinics, pharmaceutical companies) matter for embodiment, gender, and inequality. What does the medical and commercial use of hormones help us understand about the body in society?
